Attended the funeral and got to see family I haven't seen in well over a decade. It was nice to visit with them, even under the circumstances. I spent the rest of the afternoon and night at various airports and planes flying home.

Caught an early afternoon flight to Orlando, via Cincinnati. Nothing like being flagged and searched at the airport because you paid cash for a ticket the day before you bought it... at both hops! But I enjoyed walking around the airport waiting for the second flight and watching others. I arrived in Florida at midnight thanks to a technical problem with the plane we were on that forced it to be grounded. Can you tell this trip is starting out well?

My mom called tonight (I know, it was Mother’s Day and I should have called her) and told me my grandmother had died. So, I'm scrambling to go to Florida for the funeral. I don't like funerals. I would rather remember the person the way I did in my memories than see them for the final time in the casket (not looking anything like they did in life).
