The Husbear and I have decided to pursue a second business opportunity–for me this time around. I’m hitting that point where I really don’t like being a “slave” to the company I work for any longer. It might have been different if I didn’t feel like I was being screwed–and not in a good way! Anyway, back to the point. We’re opening a tattoo shop next to the salon. We’ll be the only one in Bentonville (for the moment). We have one artist lined up already, and I’ll be apprenticing with [She Who Shall Not Be Named, At Her Request] herself. Finally, a way to use my art talent and make some money off of it as well.

The Husbear and I just returned from a cousin’s wedding in Monterey, Tennessee–one of the few times in our eight years together we have both been invited to a “Rubright” family function. The Husbear was really nervous about going (and to be honest so was I!) but luckily everyone he talked with about it told him he needed to go. We both had a great time (and we both enjoyed seeing “our” nephew while we were there)! Thank you Cara and Trevor. May you both have as wonderful a future together as the Husbear and I have been fortunate to have!

Until next time...

Since the Big Easy was off limits thanks to Katrina and her water-weight gain, the Husbear, “the boys” and I headed off to the Big-D (Dallas) instead for a few days. It somehow wasn’t the same in the midst of all that was going on, so we came home early and just spent time together around the house. The Husbear was pretty much glued to the television anyway 24/7 watching Fox News.

What’s worse: reality shows or–for a lack of a better term–“reality news”? Am I the only one who has noticed the plethora of so-called news outlets that have suddenly started filming in “reality”-type broadcasting? It was bad enough I hated watching the news, but now it seems so insulting the way it is done.

Maybe we are heading to New Orleans after all? We were just watching the news, and a reporter was doing a live report from Bourbon Street. And get this, there were people out walking around already drinking! The only thing missing was the power.

Until next time...
