Root Cause: One affair caused all this hate

This “Inspirational” poster made me chuckle.

Christianity: one woman's lie about an affair that got seriously fucking out of hand
(Image stolen from Alexander.)

Yet another “miraculous birth” story, just like the plethora of other miraculous birth stories found in Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Egyptian, Hindi, Greek, Roman and just about every other culture’s mythologies and religions, many pre-dating Christianity.

And just like all those births, that one can’t be proven either. And for those that say they have “faith” that it did, I’m sure the Greeks had faith that Perseus’ mother conceived him with Jupiter, or the Egyptians that had faith that Horus was conceived by Isis.

Thanks to DNA testing and Maury, “miraculous births” don’t happen today. Too bad this technology wasn’t available 2 millennia ago. No wonder all these religious/mythical stories happened so long ago.

Sadly I’m not surprised by the quantity of Christians who have never explored—or even are aware of—the vast quantity of extremely similar themes in the Bible that are found in many other cultures histories.

Of course, these would also be the same “Christians” who would be the first to label me a heretic for pointing out that fact, and as a sinner for “mocking their faith”.

Believe it or not, I actually thank going to two religious schools—Mt. Dora Bible School and Harding University—for teaching me to question why I was supposed to believe the things I was taught to believe.

Question what you believe. Question everything. Find your own answers.

Until next time...
Erik

  1. But even when you point this out (I have many times) they come up with some ridiculous excuse like “The devil planted that false information to lure you away from the truth. Just like Dinosaur bones and gravity.”

  2. She gets knocked up and gets gold, myrrh, and frankincense.

I get knocked up and all I get is a wet fart.

  3. Why should I believe anything said by some godless HO-MO-sekshal sodomite? We don’t need no lurnin’, we got ourselfs the Bible to teach us everythin we need. 🙂

  4. Seriously, you have people making decisions for others based on their non-provable religious views, not on common sense or science.
Religion is the ultimate control over the masses and for the first time in recorded history Christianity is the most profitable.

  5. I have pointed out to Christians that followers of Cybele would actually castrate themselves because of their string faith in that goddess. They cut their nuts off, and yet their faith was fake and each particular sect of Christians is the ONLY way to get into their fairy tale heaven.
