Snow Job

It is snowing here in Northwest Arkansas. A very rare event for here the last few years. Usually we just get ice storms that cripple the area for weeks. The snow started early this morning and has not let up yet. There's about 3 inches of snow on all the horizontal surfaces so far. All the schools and most businesses are closed. That's the way things go in these parts.

Snow at the house

Driving to the day job was interesting (as it always is, actually). For what reason do people turn stupid when the weather changes? They drive like drunk teenagers leaving prom getting their first road head. I passed two accident scenes in the 10 miles from our house to work. That was just on the way in! When I left work at 1 PM, there were cars in the ditches everywhere. What the hell?

Anyway, I guess I'll kill the remainder of the day by wandering around the Internet, watching cartoons and maybe some porn—my idea of multitasking.

Until next time...

Let it snow… not!

It's snowing. Go weather! And by "go" I mean as in "go the fuck away!" Where is the warmth? I want my 72 degrees, sunny beach and sexy people wearing next to nothing serving me cold beer. I am not bitter. I just like my weather warm.

And why is it that when the weather changes to something "bad", people start driving in a more stupid fashion? Stupid humans. The ground is still way above freezing; nothing is sticking; the flurries are slight; and yet, people still think they have to drive 5 miles an hour and NOT USE THEIR TURN SIGNALS! To that I am bitter.

I am amused with the fact that people will call work claiming they cannot make it in because of the weather, yet they can sure as hell make it to the video store, grocery market and liquor store.

That is all I have for now. I have to go brave the elements (and idiots) so I can get some liquor.

Until next time...

July 3, 2004

Had a severe storm last night that caused much damage in this part of the state. We luckily only had an old walnut tree toppled and some washout from the flooding. Will have to construct some sort of drainage around the house to channel that much water in case we have another storm like that.

Until next time...
