Pic a Day in May: Day 17

Father and Daughter...

They make my heart happy.

Jim of Jim's Stuff started his own version of the "Pic a Day in May" challenge. So I thought I'd go ahead and give it a shot. It's not like I can really think of anything to blog about these days anyway. So we'll go with my life in pictures. There's that whole "a picture is worth a thousand words" thing anyway, so that just means I need to write less. ;-)

Other bloggers that I know of who are playing along:
Jim of Jim's Stuff
Sean of Idle Eyes and a Dormy
Kelly of Rambling along in life...
Sean of Just a Jeep Guy
BuddyBear of One Step at a Time

Until next time...

Fortuitousness?

A little over a week ago, I posted this.

Talk about timing.

Today, our oldest daughter called to let us know that she and her boyfriend are planning on getting married in November.

And she wants both the Husbear and I to walk her down the aisle.

*sniffle*

Until next time...

Something.In.My.Eye.

(YouTube link if you do not see the above embedded video.)

I might have shed a tear or two watching this. I can just imagine what the Husbear's reaction is going to be. Especially since our three kids are of marriageable age now.

Totally stolen from Joe. My. God..

Until next time...

The last one out of the nest…

I don't often talk about our kids on here. However, this past Saturday our son (and our youngest child) graduated from High School.

The Husbear, our son Matthew and myself.

This next picture is very special to me for many reasons.

Our son Matthew, and his dad.

Matt, we love you more than you will ever know and we are so proud of you.

Until next time...

Another child, another accident.

First one, now another. I think we're just going to get our kids big rubber balls to walk in and be done with it.

Our youngest, our 18 year old son, calls today. He was heading to our house from his mothers for the weekend. He had been in an accident. Correction—he had CAUSED the accident. He wasn't paying attention and rear-ended someone who had stopped in the road ahead of him. AND that person then rear-ended the person stopped in front of them. Joy. Less than two months after we give him the car and he wrecks it and takes out two other vehicles in the process.

The son is fine, aside from his knees bothering him (he somehow whacked the underside of the dash during the accident) and the verbal lashing he has received from the husbear and myself. The husbear is upset, mad and disappointed—all the emotions one has as a parent when their child is in danger and causes danger.

The car is totaled. It is amazing the damage that can be done at 35 miles per hour. Guess he'll find out what it's like to be an adult faster than he wants. I'm glad we gave him a "boat."

(sigh)... at least he wasn't using a cell phone at the time....

Until next time...
