Wig

This is one of the first B-52’s songs I ever heard, if not the very first one sometime back in 1988 or thereabouts. “Wig” was on their 1986 album “Bouncing off the Satellites”, which was my introduction to the greatest party band ever. I couldn’t tell you where or how I heard this song, as no one I knew at the time listened to such music. All I know is that it made me go buy every album they had made up to that point. And I’ve been a voracious fan ever since.

I used to pop the “Bouncing off the Satellites” tape into my Walkman and run (when I was training for cross country and track in High School). I think I actually stretched the tape out listening to it so much.

I present you with The B-52’s “Wig”:

Seriously. How can you not hear a song like that and just be all happy inside?

Tickets to their NW Arkansas concert went on sale today, but the website was up last night and I placed my ticket order. Just waiting on the confirmation email. *squeeeee*

Until next time...

  1. I call mine, Elana.

    It’s a great song, but i do love “Housework”….and “Give Me Back My Man” and…. and… and…

    1. I love “Housework” too. But just the song. Not the actual activity.

Actually, I can only think of a few songs that I don’t like, and most of those are on that David Byrne’s produced abomination of an album “Mesopotamia”.
