Pic a Day in May: Day 25

This was the only picture I took today.

Don’t ask me why I was on the floor. I have no idea. These things just happen.

It’s not like I can really think of anything to blog about these days anyway. So we’ll go with my life in pictures. Plugin Fail

Site Issue

My apologies to anyone who happened to wander to my site this morning and afternoon, only to discover it was unreachable. My webhost, MacHighway, had a server issue today.

It looks like everything’s finally up and running now.

It appears the cause was an exploit in a WordPress plugin that hadn’t been updated by another user on the shared server. There is a plugin that’s used by many WordPress themes and other plugins called “timthumb”. Older versions are very vulnerable to being exploited.

There is a plugin called “Timthumb Vulnerability Scanner“. If you use WordPress at all, I recommend you install, activate, and run the plugin, then take action if it finds any issues.

Pic a Day in May: Day 23

I didn’t really take any good pictures today, so you’re getting the least crappy of what I took.

This tattoo’s about a week old and in the process of healing. And right below my left knee.

"All of this has happened before, and it will all happen again."

It’s a concept that has come up repeatedly in my life. It’s a phrase that’s repeated in the re-imaged Battlestar Galactica, Disney’s Peter Pan, the Information Society song “Seek 200“, and the concept can be seen in The Matrix trilogy, and several cultures through history. The concept is called eternal return. It basically boils down that time is not linear but cyclical.

As to why I wanted it permanently tattooed on my person? Because all of this has happened before….

Pic a Day in May: Day 22

Today is the Arkansas Preferential Primary & Non-Partisan Judicial General Election.

While I was at the polling place, I noticed everyone there was a geriatric, at best. One of the election officials even seemed “surprised” that a younger voter (i.e., me) was even there. That, or she was startled about my tattoos. I’m guessing probably a little of both.
