Well, since I’m such a handy-man (snicker!), the Husbear and I have been doing a lot of renovations around the house. So far, we’ve gutted the living room and redone it, and we’re now almost done with the kitchen and dining room. I’ll have some before-and-after pictures on here before long, I hope. The only big problem with being out here is the internet connection–there isn’t one. Well, there is, but it’s via dial-up, and only up to 33Kbps! Argh!

We closed on our home today. It’s official–we’re hom-o-wners! All that time and stress of the last month and a half has finally paid off!

The bank’s appraiser finally was able to go out to appraise the house today. Now we’re just waiting for him to submit his report to the bank.

We found out we’ve been approved for the loan through the underwriter. Now the bank has to send an appraiser to the property.

The offer we made on the house was accepted! The realtor sent the info to the bank, and now we’re waiting on the loan approval from the underwriter.

The Husbear and I have grown tired of paying someone else’s mortgage, so we’ve been looking around for a house. Today we went and made an offer on a house that we looked at. It’s a two story home built in 1892, that sits on five acres of land. As with most older homes, it will need a little work but appears to be in rather good condition.
