FIVE DEGREES: Dumbest Thing

StevieB over at Nice to see StevieB started this one. And it seems a bunch of the bloggers I love are doing it. So hey, why shouldn’t I?

Five questions to be answered to give greater insight into the writer’s psyche. Five aspects that people might not know about me. Here are the topics:

Dumbest Thing
Toughest Choice
Happiest Moment
Crush / Lust
Secret Loves

Today’s entry is “dumbest thing”.

But is that the dumbest thing I’ve ever done? Or the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen? Either way, that’s a big list. And probably speaks volumes about my psyche.

And what about dumbest thought? I have those thoughts a lot. Luckily I have a second level of filtering that usually kicks in. Usually.

I find “dumb” to be very relative to the things going on around myself at the time.

I guess for this entry I’d have to say the dumbest thing I’ve done is climb up in a tree with a chainsaw to cut it down. I loathe heights. I loathe chainsaws. Both of them at one time and I was thinking I’d be a sure winner for a Darwin Award. I even had that thought while I was up in the tree.

The Husbear was “encouraging” me, mostly because he wanted the tree down I think. Several “precise” cuts on a few large limbs and they came crashing down around me. Which freaked me out even more. Eventually we were left with the stump. And all my own limbs were left unsevered, and I was lucky to not be impaled by any limbs as they came crashing down. But my nerves were totally shot for the remainder of the day.

And that’s probably the dumbest thing I’ve done.

Lately.

Until next time...
Erik
