My turn to pick the theme for the month. After two other… failed… suggestions, we agreed upon songs by Irish bands. Seems appropriate with it being March and all? But I think U2 should be left out. Since, well, U2.

And Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

This is one of those songs where I have zero idea where I heard it, but it stuck with me. And lucky for me, as they’re Irish!

I give you Kodaline’s 2013 song “All I Want”:

That’s obviously not the band’s video for the song. You can find that here… it’s… sappy.

Part 1:

Part 2, same song, but a continuation of the previous video:

Sinéad O’Controversy. But before she had that, er, title, she was well, just Sinéad. While her popularity has been somewhat lacking for the last two decades, she’s still putting out music. But I still enjoy listening to her 1990 album “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got”.

And from that album, I give you Sinéad O’Connor’s “The Emperor’s New Clothes”:

Two reasons I like this song I’m presenting this week. The first, because it was made known to me via Jimmy Buffett sometime in the 1908s. And second, I change the word “girl” to “squirrel” whenever this song plays. Much to the vexation of my co-workers, usually. But it works so much better.

And whatever reason, I had ZERO idea this artist was Irish. Until less than a year ago when he was knighted.

So, for my first week, I give you Van Morrison’s 1967 “Brown Eyed Girl Squirrel”.

Blobby‘s month to select the music. And he chose songs with an article of clothing in the title. Doesn’t sound too difficult. I think. I assume he was either getting dressed, or un, or maybe doing laundry when he thought it up.

“Whoooo! Outlaw country!” (Archer joke… if you know it.)

I’d say living in Arkansas has made me listen to country music, but I actually blame the Husbear for it more than anything. Granted, he is a native. And as I’ve grown less young, I do appreciate greater music diversity. This is one of those songs that for whatever reason, I like. And as Blobby said, one must talk about footwear.

So I give you Montgomery Gentry’s 1999 “Hillbilly Shoes”, because, well, this is the Husbear’s family:

Working Me.

Just some videos of me doing one of the things I do, and probably a little more of the craziness that’s me. (I finally figured out how to grab these videos off of Facebook after they do a live thingy.) If you’re truly bored, these will kill a lot of time.

So far we’ve not had any matches. Let’s see if we can keep that up.

I had a choice of at least two songs from this band, but went with the one I like more so. And Blobby probably won’t pick it, as I know he doesn’t like this particular album.

I myself, enjoy the album, even if Cindy was MIA for it. I feel the remaining members did well with it. One of my favorite songs is from this album, but it’s not the song I present today.

I give you The B-52’s “Hot Pants Explosion” from the 1992 album “Good Stuff”:

Until next time...
