The husbear and me

The gay bar down in Fayetteville is called “Tangerine” (and I wish to your god that a straight person picked the colors out!). The “Tang” caters to the younger, college crowd. I feel old there. I think that’s why we tend to travel more these days—to go to cities with bars that have people in our same age groups.

Speaking of travel, we will be heading down to Dallas for TBRU in two weeks! Real men in a real city.

Oh—forget about attempting to get a “serious” picture from either of us… ever.

Until next time...
Erik

  1. I just found your blog through Mike from Mike Says. Thanks for the blogroll and I reciprocated.

Gay bars are a funny thing. Trashy gives the sense of scanky. Wild colors or over the top pray on attracting the twinks and classy bars are usually stuck-up, standoffish bars.

Where I live, we have 2 decent bars where the everyday, older than 30 guys go. In our world, I consider that pretty damn lucky.

  2. What Sorted fails to mention is that most of us would just refer to one of them as “the living room”. A pretentious one, that Sorted is.

He is right, though. My personal favorite haunt has walls painted as if a rainbow threw up in it. No two rooms have the same color on the walls – and all are in the gawd-awful-loud-as-shit pastel range.
