Wow.
Today is quite the historical day, and with precedent, as I tweeted last night when I was looking at my “on this day I wrote” posts on my sidebar:
Today would be a good day historically: Lawrence v. Texas in 2003, DOMA3 in 2013, Obergefell v. Hodges in 2015.

And I’m so glad it happened. Thank you to the Supreme Court for being human. Well, most of the Court.
We’ve (probably) all seen what Justice Kennedy wrote (bolding mine):
No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.
Exactly that. Equal dignity.
My heart goes out to all those who came before this moment who didn’t have the opportunity. As a friend posted:
Along with the joy, there are also bittersweet tears as I remember all of my dear friends that were taken from us too soon who also dreamed that one day they would be equal to everyone else, especially during the very ugly years when it seemed the majority of the world thought we were disposable people of no value. This day, is for them.
For now, I just want to celebrate this moment, and think happy thoughts for the future of humanity.
Until next time...
I woke up to the best news ever. I love you, my Husbear! It’s hard to believe the day is finally here that our love and relationship will now be recognized in the country where we were born. And only a few days from our 18th anniversary together. #LoveWins

Previously…
I have this method of ranking music in my library, which currently consists of 34,968 songs: By default, all new songs in my library get ⭐️⭐️⭐️. As I listen to them, I sort them as follows: ⭐️ means it’s “rubbish” (as Dr. Spo would say) and I’ll probably delete it from the library, ⭐️⭐️ means it’s just “meh” but I’ll probably keep it, ⭐️⭐️⭐️ means it’s okay and we will probably talk over it, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ means I really like and may potentially sing at random, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ means everyone better shut the funk up because my song is on! You know the kind of songs I’m talking about. We all have them.
These are mine, one post at a time.
I’m starting my approach to this with songs I’ve given ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to in iTunes. There’s only 90 of them at the moment. I’ll probably sneak in an occasional ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ as well.
And since Blobby is doing cover’s this month…
I’ve missed the last two Friday posts. Life.
I notice I have quite a collection of country music. I’m not sure how that happened. But I’ll blame the Husbear. I really didn’t start listening to country until we met. Or disco. Or dance. Weird.
Trick Pony would be one of those country bands I like. Well, their debut album in 2001 called “Trick Pony” I like. They have two other albums I haven’t heard. I’m not sure why I like them, other than they’re fun. At least fun to my ear.
This is Trick Pony’s cover of Johnny Cash’s “Big River,” featuring both Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings.
Until next time...
