Southern Decadence is almost here.
This coming weekend the Husbear and I will start our leisurely drive south to visit strange places in the south before heading to New Orleans next week.
Of course, the Husbear has been wanting to leave since last week. Or the week before. He’s like a squirrel (“Can we go yet? Can we go yet? Can we go yet?”) and it’s all becomes a blur.
And of course, it looks like we might be in for some rainy weather again this year… by the name of Isaac.
Condiment-writing shtick totally stolen from Dead Robot.
Until next time...
Isaac? I thought that they gave only female names to storms like that? Maybe I’m wrong…
Enjoy your trip. Take pictures! 🙂
Men’s names were introduced in 1979: http://www.lifeslittlemysteries.com/822-how-are-hurricanes-named-.html
Growing up, my first memory of a hurricane was hurricane David in 1979. Only because we had to go stay with our grandmother for a few days because of the horrible weather it brought us in Florida.
I would love to have a hurricane named after me.
There has been at least one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Richard
But the food is worth it !
I’d say that’s what I go for, but as I’m not really a food-person….
