The 12 of 12 Challenge was created by Chad Darnell and picked up by a number of random bloggers who linked back to him and vice versa. Chad stopped doing the 12 of 12 Challenge in December 2011, but passed the torch to someone who hasn’t kept up with it. I am giving my shout-out to Blobby of Blobby’s Blog as he is the one who initially inspired me to do the Challenge, and he still does it as well.
This is my 67th “12 of 12.” A Wednesday. A scheduled day off after our July trip so I could get some stuff done around the house. Some of these pictures are taken back-to-back. I was a little too focused on what I was doing and neglected taking photos like I should have.
These photos were taken on my iPhone 7 Plus. Still not used to it.
Until next time...
I’m with you on the dietary changes and health issues: had sky-high Triglycerides and Cholesterol, and baaaad A1C. Spent two months on a Paleo-ish/keto diet (all carbs from veggies, no sugars, no bread, no starchy veggies) and brought my A1C down to the solidly normal range, no pre-diabetes at all. Cut triglycerides in half. The nurse practitioner said, “wow! you did all this with diet?” Yep. Cholesterol hasn’t budged much, but I’m still hopeful. I don’t have to go back for 6 months. It’s totally do-able. The alcohol kind of needs to go, though, which is so, so sad 🙁
My blood pressure was/has been through the roof, so the doctor started me on a HBP medicine, then ordered a bunch of lab work. I go back in next week to talk about my lab results, and what other things may be wrong.
I’m glad you’ve been able to work on yours, and hope if that’s the case for mine I can do the same.
Minus the booze… 🙁
My BP was sky-high, too, as in 200s. Yikes.
The good news is that a very low dose of an old (cheap!) medicine keeps it in check now. I had to switch medications after 3 days because the first one clogged up my throat. Arg.
I’ve just cut back on the beloved booze, and that helps a bunch. Despair not.
I’ve been put on both lisinopril and a statin to bring the HBP down and help with the high cholesterol levels.
Mmmmm, sweaty Erik.
Dripping sweaty. It was… gross. LOL
