Bathroominess

Two years ago?? December 2013 was apparently the last time I posted about the Master bathroom. That was about the ceiling.

We’ve had a few other projects between then and now: remodeling a portion of the salon, redoing the floors in the tattoo studio, rewiring the electrical in the house, the entire barn project. The downside to doing-it-ourselves is time. Or lack of it.

The bathroom, of course, is still in progress. I missed posting about the interior walls.

And sometime between then and now I also textured the walls.

Which brings us a full year forward. Which has us again re-starting the bathroom.

The Husbear applying the first coat of the color we decided on, something called "Crystalline". I seriously wish all paint companies would just start using Pantone numbers.

We finally decided on tile, and picked it up today at the Home Depot: MARAZZI Montagna Saddle Glazed Porcelain tile.

Another coat of paint tomorrow. Then I install the heated floor mats and the floor tile. Getting closer… finally! Well, closer than we were. 😉

Until next time...

  1. I know it takes a lot of time in planning, searching for the right materials and doing the work, but there’s nothing like it for getting exactly what you want and becoming ever more involved in the environment you’ve created. Fritz and I did a large amount of the interior finish work of the house (and outdoor work on dry set stone planting beds surrounding the house); now that he’s gone, the house is full of him and it’s a great consolation to live in an environment we created together.

    1. Very much so, on the doing it ourselves.

And I never really thought about the memories that go into the making of it ours. I guess it would be comforting to know that what we both put into our home would always be around for the other, even after.

  2. OMG – you’ve been living without your master bathroom for 2 years? You are much more patient than me! I love the tile selection, and the kitty is super cute. 🙂
