Most of the B-52’s anthology is in heavy rotation on my iPod. All the time.
Yes, I was smack dap in the middle of living through that era, was not THAT long ago, just kind of long ago 🙂 B-52s and my Stevie Nicks thing kept me going. Almost went into therapy due to overdose of “Thriller”
It was kind of long ago, but it does just seem like yesterday as well.
And I think MJ’s “Thriller” would have sent anyone into therapy.
My sophomore year biology teacher had a B-52’s pin on her shirt. I wasn’t familiar with the group. I checked it out and loved them. I had all their cassettes. I later bought the CD’s. Now they are on my ipod.
I have no recollection of what got me started listening to the B-52’s. I know it was before “Cosmic Thing” was released, but I don’t know why.
I used to run cross-country in high school. And I’d listen to “Bouncing Off The Satellites” and “Cosmic Thing” on my Walkman while doing it. They had a nice and steady beat to run to.
