12 of 12, March 2016 edition

The 12 of 12 Challenge was created by Chad Darnell and picked up by a number of random bloggers who linked back to him and vice versa. Chad stopped doing the 12 of 12 Challenge in December 2011, but passed the torch to someone who [sadly] hasn’t been keeping up with it. I am giving my shout-out to Blobby of Blobby’s Blog as he is the one who initially inspired me to do the Challenge, and he still does.

This got posted a little late. I had some technical problems with my blog I had to get corrected before I could post.

This is my 51st “12 of 12.” A Saturday. My “Friday”. It was a very long day, at the end of a very long week. Well, the length of the week didn’t actually change. It just felt that way.

9:57 AM: I'm awake, albeit a little later than normal. And apparently I woke her up from her nap on the couch.

This is my 50th “12 of 12.” A Friday. Who’d have thought I would have made it this far?

It’s been a long two weeks. Trying to keep the Husbear together, the businesses running, all the normal stuff around the house, and then just my schedule of tattooing appointments. So tired. Getting up with the Husbear every couple of hours through the night is taking it’s toll. As a result, I can’t say this was a great effort on my part today of getting pictures either.

10:17 AM: Just woke up from a couple hours of sleep after getting the Husbear up and ready. I haven't really slept at all since the Husbear's accident.

10:59 AM: I had to make a quick stop on the way to the studio at Sam's Club for some mop heads and backup gloves. It looked like a florist exploded all up in the Club.

This is my 49th “12 of 12.” A Tuesday. A day off. And a day I wasn’t looking forward to. Well, I was, but I wasn’t.

Backstory: On New Years Eve eve, I had a chunk of molar (#3) break off while eating–of all things–oatmeal. No dentists anywhere could get me in that day to extract it as most were on holiday. I called down the list in the phone book. Two different dentists were able to get me in–one that evening, and one the next morning–but as I found out while with them, neither of them extract teeth any longer. WTF? What the hell kind of dentist doesn’t extract teeth? Both of them wanted to refer me to oral surgeons to have it extracted. Seriously? What kind of shenanigans is this? Here I was in pain, and they don’t pull teeth.

The pain was manageable for the most part (my liver probably isn’t happy with that quantity of ibuprofen), so I more or less suffered up until this point. I was able to get in yesterday to see this dentist, and said he would/could pull it, but he wanted to start me on antibiotics first. So after a day of that, today was the day for the extraction.

Which didn’t go so well, so today’s pictures aren’t that… inspiring.

All pictures were taken with my iPhone 6.

9:40 AM: The antibiotic and ibuprofen the dentist prescribed for me. And my checklist to make sure I took them.

3:14 PM: So much blood. It took about 20 minutes for the molar to be extracted. After a bunch of yanking and tugging, it just wouldn't budge. So the dentist sliced it in thirds (I can still smell the burning bone) and yanked each piece. Of which some broke. And apparently some of my gum with it. If you think that bib is bloody, you should have seen all the instruments and gauze laying out.
