Two months of a numbers theme is over. It was back to Blobby for theme selection, and he went with title songs. Or the track selection with the same title as the album. He also opened it up to a lyrical phrase that is the title of the album, while it might not be the title of the song.

Of course there would be at least ONE song from one of my favorite bands–INXS–in this month’s theme.

I give you INXS’ “Listen Like Thieves”, from the 1985 album of the same name:

Until next time...

Blobby picked out the theme for last month. It was “numbers”: the song must have a number in the title. Not the word ‘number’, but an actual numeric digit of some kind. I asked to continue the theme this month, one, because I liked it, and two, because I’m going to be really busy this month.

We’ve all heard it a thousand times, whether we wanted to or not. And I still enjoy singing along to it all these years later.

I give you The Proclaimers 1988 hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”:

Señor Blobby, it’s your pick for October!

Until next time...

This specific song may have begun my love affair with all things “Weird Al”. I remember purchasing this record even, and don’t think I stopped listening to it for days. That’s just how I am.

I give you “Weird Al” Yankovic’s “Polkas on 45” from the 1984 album “‘Weird Al’ Yankovic in 3-D”:

Until next time...

Blobby picked out the theme for this month. I was expecting Hell after my last choice. But he went easy on me. For now. Mostly because he’s got a busy month. So I’m still expecting payback at some point. That’s how Karma works, right?

Blobby picked “numbers”: the song must have a number in the title. Not the word ‘number’, but an actual numeric digit of some kind. Blobby thought about telling me I can’t use the numbers 1 or 2, as he assumed that would greatly limit my selections. But I have other numbers.

I’m not sure what it is about this song I love so much. Maybe the somewhat haunting melody. In combination with the lead singer’s voice.

I give you Sneaker Pimps’ 1996 song “6 Underground”:

Until next time...

I’m sorry this is late. I had a full day yesterday only to come home to the power shutting off not long after I got home due to a fire somewhere that took out the main electrical supply for our power company. /joy

Of course you had to know there would be at least one The B-52’s song here.

I give you “6060-842”, from there debut 1979 album “The B-52’s”:

This is also the passcode on my phone at the moment. 😉

Until next time...
