Tentative Tentacles Are Grabbing Me

I stole this from bstewart23. Because I LOVE IT!!! And I think the world should hear it. (And by world I mean whatever quantity of the world who actually stops by my blog.)

For some odd reason, I just cannot get this song out of my head. (This happens to me on occasion. I have learned to pay attention when it does.) I think this is perhaps the best song on their new album. Maybe their best song ever? (And what exactly does this say about my musical tastes?)

[Doing my best Kermit the Frog impression:]
Without further ado… with some added video enjoyment… VJ Tom Yaz’s vision of “Love in the Year 3000” by The B-52s. Yeah!!!….

Until next time...

  1. What it says about your musical tastes, Erik, is that you have taste. Good taste. Whenever I hear songs like “Love in the Year 3000”, I long for a kick-ass remix that’ll be played at some otterbearwolf danceparty and, with a (butch) sigh, realize it ain’t gonna happen. Not in Toronto, at least.

  2. I only watched the first minute or two, but my guess is that most of your readers won’t know that movie. Especially, Sorted. She’ll have to ask that super-butch husband of hers.

    I’m just sayin’. 😉

  3. I really do think its the “grooviest” song on their album. Meaning it has a great goove to it. And I TOTALLY LOVE BARBARELLA!!!

  4. @bstewart23:
    Sadly, I don’t think it will happen at many places at all. It doesn’t seem to fit the current “trend” in dance party music.

    I’m so glad I’m not the only one out there who longs for more music like this.

    @Mike:
    Believe it or not I haven’t seen it either, at least in its entirety. But I at least do know the science fiction reference.

    @Alexander:
    It’s awesome, at least in my opinion. And in this day and age, it’s rare I actually purchase a full album.

    @cb:
    There was actually another video done by the same VJ for the same song. But I don’t think my ISP would have approved of its content. Go over to bstewart23‘s site and take a gander at it too!
