Just press Play…

After visiting friends over on the other side of the state a few weeks ago, the Husbear has been jonesing for a DVR.

I know. How 2006 of us *not* to have one.

The Husbear’s justification is that he could record and then watch his evening news whenever he wanted. Instead of having to be home at 5:30 just to be able to watch it.

As much as I love technology, there is some technology I just don’t think we necessarily need. And the DVR is one of those cases to me. I think it creates the “need” to want to watch television. At least in my head it does. I’m probably weird like that though.

As we’ve been customers of DirecTV for years and years, the Husbear called them to get our equipment upgraded. Well, not “our equipment”, but the dish receiver. Which they offered for free. And for the entire house.

With that announcement, the Husbear decided he now needed a television in the bathroom.

Like most things the Husbear wants, the Husbear gets. That’s just the way it works.

The view from the toilet, which you saw in the June 12 of 12 post.

So now the Husbear can spend even more time in the bathroom. Doing whatever. Like reading. And watching recorded episodes of the nightly news.

And I’ll have to go pee outside.

Until next time...

12 of 12, June 2012

My sixth “12 of 12”. I almost forgot that it was the 12th, even though I had a reminder set. So I got a little late start. Actually, I didn’t get out of bed until sometime around 10:30 or so, so it wasn’t really that late a start anyway.

All pictures were taken with my iPhone 3GS. Click the images to enlarge, if you want a scare!

Created by Chad Darnell and picked up from a number of random bloggers who then link back to him and vice versa. Chad stopped doing the 12 of 12 links in December of 2011, so I linked to Blobby’s Blog as Blobby is the one who inspired me to do it. And someone should get some credit.

12:27 PM: Time for a drive. A drive to the store. And apparently time to clean my dash as well.
1:40 PM: Groceries. And electronics. And stuff.
3:50 PM: The Husbear now has a television. In the upstairs bathroom. Now he'll be in there for hours.
4:25 PM: My own personal garden gnome.
4:52 PM: Testing out the new DVR. Because I'll have to explain to the Husbear how to use it.
5:03 PM: Regardless of what the label says, it does NOT taste like peanut butter. And then there's the not-so-wow aftertaste.
5:34 PM: Overhead kitteh!
6:23 PM: µ is not enjoying this bath experience.

Here’s a video of µ getting a bath. She is not amused.

7:50 PM: The Husbear asking me how far away Yellowstone is. It is a long way away.
8:58 PM: The horse-pill of an antibiotic I'm taking to help me get over whatever the heck it is I've got.
10:25 PM: The Husbear "sampling" the banana split he brought me.
11:33 PM: Looking up under the pergola. Because I needed to go outside to urinate.

Until next time...

“Couldn’t sync posts” message ONLY via cell network

I posted this over on the WordPress for iOS forum, but I thought I should post it here as well in case any of my readers are experiencing a similar issue.

With both the 3.0 and 3.0.1 WordPress for iOS] app, whenever I attempt to connect to my self-hosted WP blog via my cell network, I receive the error: “Couldn’t sync posts: It seems your WordPress site is not accessible at this time, please try again later”. If I turn on wireless, it connects correctly.

This only happens with one of my sites. Three of them connect fine over either connection.

The site in question is running WP ver 3.3.2.

I see that other people are having a similar issue with the “Couldn’t sync posts” error, but I haven’t seen where anyone has noticed a difference between cell networks and wireless networks.

I’m curious if any of my readers use the WordPress for iOS app on their iPhone/iPad and are having a similar problem?

Until next time...
Erik
