A friend and former blogger, madhouse6, commented on Twitter the other day about the lyrics of a The Sisters of Mercy song. That in turn reminded me of a cover I had heard of another The Sisters of Mercy song. Because that’s how my brain works.
Here is “This Corrosion” as covered by the talented Diane Birch:

If you don’t remember (or haven’t heard), here is the original song as done by The Sisters of Mercy in 1987:

I always loved the original, but I absolutely love what Diane Birch did with this song. So much so that I actually have a difficult time putting it into words. Weird, no?
You can find “This Corrosion” on Diane’s second album called “The Velveteen Age“. It is a covers album, and contains several other excellent covers like “Kiss Them For Me”:

And here’s the original “Kiss Them For Me” by Siouxsie and the Banshees:

Diane’s first album “Bible Belt” also has many great songs on it.

Enjoy!
Until next time...
Love me some Sisters of Mercy and Siouxsie and the Banshees. I was just listening to them this weekend past. I am enjoying Diane Birch’s cover of This Corrosion. Great stuff!
Me too!
And I’m glad I could share, and I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
