The 12 of 12 Challenge was created by Chad Darnell and picked up by a number of random bloggers who linked back to him and vice versa. Chad stopped doing the 12 of 12 Challenge in December 2011, but passed the torch to someone who [sadly] hasn’t been keeping up with it. I am giving my shout-out to Blobby of Blobby’s Blog as he is the one who initially inspired me to do the Challenge, and he still does.
This is my 55th “12 of 12.” A Tuesday. We got home yesterday evening from our July walkabout, so it’s a “down day” to get things in order before we return to our regularly scheduled lives.
No “plus one” this month. I’ve got a pile of stuff to do still before tomorrow starts…

This is my 54th “12 of 12.” A Sunday. A very sad Sunday. The attack in Orlando early this morning still has me rattled. The family and friends I have in the area have all been accounted for, but for a lot of people that’s not the case.

This is my 52nd “12 of 12.” A Tuesday. Normally a day off for me, but I somehow managed to jack up my schedule and have been working six days a week the last couple of weeks. And will be for the next few. Ugh.
I’m publishing this post late because our home computer had a hard drive failure, and while I’ve replaced that, I haven’t had time to “be myself” with trying to get the taxes done and working too much.
But here you go. My weak attempt at the 12 this month.
It’s March! A time for madness. March Madness, if you’re into the whole basketball sports thingy. I was thinking about the March Hare originally. But there really aren’t a lot of songs I know about rabbits. Or hair.
So we’re playing with madness this month. Actually, I play with madness every month. Just not in the same way that Spo does. But this month I/we (being the Blobby) am/are showcasing some of the songs that–to me–are about madness.
I’m posting this from a Love’s fuel stop somewhere in Mississippi, on our way to NOLA for Easter weekend.
I don’t know if this counts as a “happier” song, especially compared to last weeks selection. But it feels like it deals with mental issues to me. Things my brain fights with me about on the daily.
Matchbox Twenty’s “Unwell”:
All day staring at the ceiling
Making friends with shadows on my wall
All night hearing voices telling me
That I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something
Hold on
Feeling like I’m headed for a breakdown
And I don’t know why
But I’m not crazy, I’m just a little unwell
I know right now you can’t tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you’ll see
A different side of me
I’m not crazy, I’m just a little impaired
I know right now you don’t care
But soon enough you’re gonna think of me
And how I used to be, me
I’m talking to myself in public
Dodging glances on the train
And I know, I know they’ve all been talking about me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think there must be something wrong with me
Out of all the hours thinking
Somehow I’ve lost my mind
But I’m not crazy, I’m just a little unwell
I know right now you can’t tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you’ll see
A different side of me
I’m not crazy, I’m just a little impaired
I know right now you don’t care
But soon enough you’re gonna think of me
And how I used to be
I’ve been talking in my sleep
Pretty soon they’ll come to get me
Yeah, they’re taking me away
But I’m not crazy, I’m just a little unwell
I know right now you can’t tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you’ll see
A different side of me
I’m not crazy, I’m just a little impaired
I know right now you don’t care
But soon enough you’re gonna think of me
And how I used to be
Hey, how I used to be
How I used to be
Well, I’m just a little unwell
How I used to be
How I used to be
I’m just a little unwell

This got posted a little late. I had some technical problems with my blog I had to get corrected before I could post.
This is my 51st “12 of 12.” A Saturday. My “Friday”. It was a very long day, at the end of a very long week. Well, the length of the week didn’t actually change. It just felt that way.
