And here I thought the dog days of summer were over…

That’s no moon…

Hopefully you got to see the Super Blood Moon eclipse tonight! It was quite… spectacular. And long! For us in the Central time zone, it began around 8:07 PM and ended around 11:27 PM. The total eclipse began around 9:11 PM, peaking at 9:47 PM.

The Husbear and I headed to the end of our road to observe, as the moon was obscured by the trees on the ridgeline we live on. And we were greeted with the start of the show.

I managed to take these pictures with my iPhone and an olloclip 2X telephoto lens. I was actually surprised how well they turned out.

We ended up coming back to the house around 9 PM, and I watched the rest of the show from there, as the moon had finally cleared the trees on the ridge.

The last supermoon eclipse happened in 1982 when I was 9, and the next won’t occur until 2033 when I’ll be 60. Here’s hoping I’m around to see it.

Until next time...

Previously…

I have this method of ranking music in my library, which currently consists of 34,968 songs: By default, all new songs in my library get ⭐️⭐️⭐️. As I listen to them, I sort them as follows: ⭐️ means it’s “rubbish” (as Dr. Spo would say) and I’ll probably delete it from the library, ⭐️⭐️ means it’s just “meh” but I’ll probably keep it, ⭐️⭐️⭐️ means it’s okay and we will probably talk over it, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ means I really like and may potentially sing at random, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ means everyone better shut the fuck up because my song is on! You know the kind of songs I’m talking about. We all have them.

These are mine, one post at a time.

I’m starting my approach to this with songs I’ve given ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to in iTunes. There’s only 90 of them at the moment. I’ll probably sneak in an occasional ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ as well.

And for this month, we–meaning Blobby and me–are doing songs that make you want to stop what you’re doing and get up and shake your tail feathers! Blobby allowed me to pick this month, and that was the first thing that popped into my head.

If you’ve known me for any length of time, you had to know this song and band were coming. Blobby did.

What can I say. My party band. Well, not mine. But mine.

I was a fan of The B-52’s before 1989s Cosmic Thing hit the scenes and brought them into a wider audience. I’ve loved everything they’ve done both before and after. Yes, Blobby, even 1992s Good Stuff.

How can you listen to anything they’ve done and not want to move. Some songs more than others. And this is one of them. One pretty much everyone on the planet has probably heard. And I’m sure The B-52’s are okay with that.

From the 1989 album Cosmic Thing, I give you The B-52’s “Love Shack”:

Tin Roof!

Until next time...
