That was an unusual tattoo to do. Very “artsy” for around this part of the country.
Based on a drawing the client brought me. It feels very retro-ey.

I’m not sure you need a better camera phone. The pic is quite nice. Maybe the tatt looked better in person, but it seems to look good here. Not my style, but what do I know about ink? or lions? or gay lions?

do you ever turn someone down on the grounds the tatoo being requested is just ‘too much’ ?
It depends on what you’re defining as “too much”. Some art doesn’t necessarily lend itself to becoming a good tattoo. But yes, I do turn down some tattoos. Usually either because it’s not something I feel comfortable doing with my skill set, or because I find it offensive.
